About the event
As we pivot from the more internally oriented and incubatory winter season to the bright, expansive, and explosive qualities of spring, it is important that we maintain our connection with earth. In this thirty minute workshop, we will practice somatic techniques that help us both connect with the earth and deeply presence ourselves in our own bodies. From there, we will then engage and feel into the expansive qualities of spring so that we can sustainably harness and direct this powerful emergent energy for our own growth and vitality.
This event is desinged to help you integrate the plant walk lead by Nance Klehm. Join us before the meditation to learn about native plants and then root down with Lindsey!
ABOUT THE TEACHER: Lindsey Dorr-Niro, a transdisciplinary artist and educator living and working in Chicago, has been studying, practicing, and teaching meditation for over a decade in the Indo-Tibetan Buddhism Diamon Mountain lineage. Recent trainings and courses aimed at cultivating a more somatically embodied practice have included Awakening the Body (DharmaOcean), Awakening the Heart (DharmaOcean), and The Somatic Practice of Pure Awareness (with Neil McKinlay -- DharmaOcean). She is currently inspired by her courses in meditation with Ralph De La Rosa (LCSW) whose work bridges Tibetan Buddhist meditation/mindfulness practice with Internal Family Systems, attachment theory, and somatic experiencing to address and heal trauma.
